Rius is Chief Engineer for Astrolab, currently working on the NASA LTV crewed rover project scheduled to land in 2028. Astrolab’s FLIP unmanned rover is scheduled to land in December this year. With more than 35 years of space flight project experience and unparalleled experience in Mars robotic and mobility systems. Rius has worked on every rover mission to Mars from Sojourner, Spirit & Opportunity, Curiosity, and Perseverance, and landers Phoenix and Insight. He has been technical lead and/or Chief Engineer for all 7 robotic arms that have operated on the planet’s surface. Rius has participated in over 20 spaceflight projects and has flown hardware past nearly every planet, the Sun’s orbit, asteroids and comets
